What would it mean for health care to transform rather than reform?
This blog describes what is and what could be in our corner of Colorado for those who are in need–the poor, the homeless, the stranger–by considering what Transforming Health means for organizations, communities and individuals.
We know there is need, but what is it? Many community services exist in our area for the poor, homeless, underserved. Are those resources coordinated so that a network exists? Are there gaps in communication or services that once identified could be closed? Are there barriers that limit access that could be overcome? Are there new models ready to explore and to consider? Are there innovative ideas that could be implemented and evaluated? How do the respective roles of government, non-profits, health care providers and delivery systems, philanthropic organizations, pharmaceutical/medical device companies, researchers, and more, come together to serve those in need?
I’m going to ask questions and post what I learn here.
